New York City’s art scene just got a whole lot bigger, bolder, and more playful. The internationally celebrated Balloon Museum has landed at the historic Tin Building in Manhattan’s Seaport district, bringing its immersive exhibition, DAYDREAM – Air Becomes Art, to NYC.

Forget standing behind velvet ropes admiring artwork from a distance. This exhibition invites visitors to step inside enormous inflatable installations, explore surreal spaces, and interact with art in ways traditional museums rarely allow.

And with the exhibition running through February 28, 2027, there’s still plenty of time to experience it.

Immersive Installations, One Massive NYC Experience

Spanning more than 50,000 square feet, DAYDREAM features interactive installations created by an international lineup of more than 20 artists.

Visitors can expect oversized inflatable sculptures, mirrored environments, kinetic artwork, and hands-on experiences that turn entire rooms into works of art.

The artist lineup is impressive, too. Featured names include Marina Abramović, Martin Creed, Alex Schweder, Thom Kubli, Karina Smigla-Bobinski, and Valerio Berruti.

Each installation brings something different to the experience, with plenty of unexpected moments, photo opportunities, and spaces worth exploring.

A New Chapter for the Balloon Museum in NYC

After drawing attention around the world with its larger-than-life exhibitions, the Balloon Museum opened its first permanent U.S. flagship at 96 South Street in August 2026.

The historic Tin Building provides a striking backdrop for the museum’s contemporary, interactive approach to art.

For NYC event planners, experiential marketers, and creative professionals, DAYDREAM also offers a firsthand look at how scale, sensory design, and audience participation can transform an ordinary space into something unforgettable.
