Open House New York Weekend gives New Yorkers and visitors a chance to step inside some of the city’s most interesting spaces from October 16th through 18th. The annual event covers all five boroughs and features more than 300 destinations to explore. Many are free and open to the public, so you can build a weekend around a few neighborhoods and see places that usually stay behind closed doors.
See a Different Side of New York City
The lineup covers a lot of ground. You might tour a landmark building, peek inside a working shop, explore a park, or check out a piece of city infrastructure. The 2026 preview includes the Flatiron Building at Dusk, the NYC DOT Sign Shop, Rockefeller Center Gardens, and Brooklyn Army Terminal.
Most locations are free and drop-in, but some require advance tickets because of limited capacity or security requirements. The complete list of destinations comes out September 25th, and tickets for locations that need them go on sale October 2nd.
That mix is part of the fun. You can make a plan, or even just pick a neighborhood and see what you find. Either way, Open House New York turns an ordinary weekend into a chance to look at the city from a different angle.
