For nearly five decades, summer in Brooklyn has included evenings at the Lena Horne Bandshell. BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! returns for its 47th season with another summer of free concerts, performances, and cultural events all happening in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.

A Brooklyn Summer Tradition

What began in 1979 has grown into one of New York City’s longest-running outdoor performing arts festivals. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people make their way to Prospect Park for a mix of music, dance, film, and live performances from artists representing a wide range of genres and traditions.

Most performances are free to attend, which has helped make Celebrate Brooklyn! a fixture of the city’s summer calendar. The festival welcomes audiences from across the five boroughs while introducing new artists, new sounds, and new perspectives throughout the season.

The lineup changes from year to year, with performances scheduled across the summer, from now until September 19th, at the Lena Horne Bandshell. Visitors can check the festival schedule for the latest artist announcements and event dates.

After 47 years, Celebrate Brooklyn! continues to prove that some of the city’s best summer nights don’t require a ticket. Just bring a blanket, find a spot in Prospect Park, and enjoy the show.

The Event Planner Expo is where event professionals gather to discover new ideas, build valuable connections, and stay inspired by what’s happening across the industry. You won’t want to miss it. Secure those tickets today!
