Labor Day weekend and county fairs go hand in hand, and Staten Island’s biggest celebration has plenty to see. The Richmond County Fair returns to Historic Richmond Town September 5th through 7th, 2026, with carnival rides, live entertainment, local food, family activities, and one of the borough’s favorite annual traditions. Set against the backdrop of New York City’s most complete living history village, it’s a weekend that mixes classic fair fun with a little local history.
A Fair With a Little More History
More than 100 vendors will line the fairgrounds with everything from handmade goods to festival favorites. Carnival rides, games, and a three-day music festival keep the energy going all weekend. Visitors can also watch blacksmithing, broom making, open-hearth cooking, and other living history demonstrations throughout Historic Richmond Town.
Families will find plenty to do with face painting, a butterfly vivarium, pony rides, and roaming entertainers, while pie, hot dog, chicken wing, and donut eating contests add a little friendly competition to the schedule.
