1. Central Park Rowboats
Experience Central Park from a boat, a Central Park rowboat that is! Paddling through the park will offer some of the most stunning views of the foliage, perfect for selfie backdrops. Bring your selfie stick to get as much of those panoramic shores in every shot. Most will tell you the fall season is the most colorful, but you can get incredible Instagram shots any time of year.
2. Top of the Rock
One of the most “Instagrammable” selfie spots in New York is from the 67th, 69th, and 70th floors of the Rockefeller Center. There are three different observation decks from which to choose your best selfie position. But all of them feature breathtaking and panoramic views of the city, including the Empire State Building.
3. The Brooklyn Bridge
You can’t really have a “best selfie” list without including The Brooklyn Bridge, can you? It might be an obvious landmark to pose in front of, but there are so many fun ways to get a unique selfie with this tourist favorite. While there isn’t necessarily a less busy time to head over and get your shots, getting there between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM will likely be less hectic.
4. Times Square
Whether it’s broad daylight or lit up at night, Times Square is a spectacle to behold. Tourists travel from all over the globe just to get a selfie here. And it’s an absolute bucket list checkmark for the best selfie locations in the country. Stage an impromptu pose or romantic embrace in the middle of all the NYC action!
5. Statue of Liberty
This legendary landmark also happens to be free when you hop on the Staten Island Ferry. On a perfectly sunlit day, Lady Liberty is a stunning photobomber. Green, tall, and in all her glory, get your best selfie from any angle, with the Statue of Liberty standing proud.
6. ‘Crash’ Mural
Visiting the Lower East Side? If you head over to the corner of Chrystie Street and Broome Street, you’ll find this colorful and brilliant mural, perfect for selfie stardom. Strike your best selfie pose with Yosemite Sam!
7. Washington Square Arch
Check out one of NYC’s coolest pieces of architecture, the Washington Square Arch. This historic landmark hasn’t had driving traffic since 1958 and was originally built in 1892, making it a great selfie locale. Get creative with your angles and bring a little history to your Instagram feed.
8. NYC Hudson Yards Vessel
While you’re experiencing the restaurants and shops at Hudson Yards, stop and take a selfie! One of NYC’s newest attractions, The Vessel, is growing in social media popularity as a selfie backdrop because of its cool beehive-looking shape. It’s one of the coolest places to get a unique selfie and enjoy Chelsea Market and The Highline while you’re there.
9. The Flatiron Building
You may not realize it, but the Flatiron Building is one of the most photographed structures in New York City. And for good reason, we might add! Its iconic shape and awe-inspiring architecture are just stunning and nothing you’ll find in any other metropolitan city. It’s a fantastic entry on this best selfie spot list, as well, with cool and unique views during any season of the year.
10. The Edge NYC
The Edge first opened in 2020 and features one of the most inspirational outdoor sky decks and is a hot venue for event planners. It’s one of the tallest, too, at 100 stories. Some of the absolute best skyline views of the New York City horizon can be captured at The Edge NYC. And if sky decks are your jam, you can get some pretty spectacular views from the Empire State Building deck along with the One World Trade Center deck, too.
